Strangers at the ferry

These photographs were taken during an evening walk around the wharf near the ferry terminal in downtown Auckland. As I wandered along the waterfront, I noticed sunlight streaming through a large glass wall, creating a beautiful flare. At the same time, commuters hurried past on their way home, their silhouettes briefly crossing the center of the frame.

It was one of those scenes that felt impossible to ignore. Any street photographer would probably understand the feeling the instinct to stop, raise the camera, and capture a moment before it disappears forever.

When I later reviewed and edited the images, I was surprised by the sense of nostalgia they carried. Perhaps it was the combination of the fading sunlight, the anonymous figures, and the quiet reminder that everyone was on their way somewhere. Whatever the reason, the photographs left me with a feeling that lingered long after the moment itself had passed.
